Mission Statement

Since its founding in 2011, our team has continued to thrive and grow. We began in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) with six elementary school students. Today, our members range from middle school to college students and come from schools across the United States. We are fortunate to have more than 25 mentors guiding us on our robotics journey.

Through hard work and dedication, we have earned many awards, including the IEEE Innovation Award. We competed at the FIRST World Championship in 2017 and 2018 and qualified again in 2020, before that event was canceled due to the pandemic. That same year, we became the first middle/high school team in RoboSub history to win the world title. We are also the first RobotX team to include high school students.

Our team meets year-round to take part in a variety of robotics competitions. Between competitions, we cross-train current members across multiple disciplines and teach new members the fundamentals of robotics and programming. Beyond our own team, we share what we know through extensive local and international outreach.

We are an ambitious team, and we set high goals. We aim to compete at RoboBoat, RoboSub, and RobotX with a fully functioning Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV), Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (UUV), and Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Our coaches and mentors encourage us to reach for these goals, and we know that even if we fall short, what we learn matters more than what we win.

Our main goal is to learn about robotics and to compete in ways that push us to keep improving. We share our knowledge because teaching others deepens our own understanding. We share our resources because we believe everyone should have the chance to learn robotics. We innovate to expand our knowledge and our sense of what is possible. And we inspire others to pursue robotics because it is fun, fascinating, and useful.
